Forbidden Dreadnought E T1 – 2026

The Forbidden Dreadnought E T1 is the definitive expression of what the Dreadnought E platform is capable of. Everything on this bike has been specified without compromise — a RockShox ZEB Ultimate fork, RockShox Vivid Coil rear shock, SRAM Maven Ultimate brakes, SRAM X0 T-Type AXS drivetrain, Crankbrothers Synthesis Carbon Enduro wheels, Sapim CX-Ray spokes, and the most powerful Avinox M2S motor — all wrapped around the same full-carbon Trifecta high-pivot frame that underpins every build in the Dreadnought E range. The T1 is the bike for riders who know exactly what they want and won’t accept anything less.

At outset.bike, we stock bikes that we genuinely believe in. The Dreadnought E T1 is the pinnacle of what a full-power, high-pivot enduro e-MTB looks like right now.

AVINOX M2S DRIVE SYSTEM

The T1 is powered by the Avinox M2S motor — 130 Nm of continuous torque, 150 Nm in Boost mode, and 1,300 W of peak power. This is the same top-spec motor as the T2, sharing the same 2.6 kg package weight, but the T1 pairs it with the fastest charger in the range: the Avinox 508W fast charger, which dramatically reduces turnaround time between rides. The 800 Wh integrated battery (35.9 V, 22.3 Ah, IP56 rated) gives you the range for the biggest days in the mountains.

Power delivery runs across ECO, TRAIL, TURBO, and BOOST modes via Avinox wireless controls, the 2-inch full-colour OLED display, and the Avinox Ride app. The app supports full assist-mode customisation, route navigation via GPX/FIT/TCX import, and integration with third-party navigation apps. The SRAM AXS Derailleur Power Cord enables Avinox Smooth Shift — gear changes without pedalling — for seamless transitions on technical climbs.

ROCKSHOX ZEB ULTIMATE FORK

The T1 runs the RockShox ZEB Ultimate — the top of the ZEB range and a significant step up from the ZEB Select+ found on the T3. The Ultimate spec features the Charger 3.2 RC2 damper with Linear XL tune and Buttercup bottom-out ramp technology, delivering a more linear, supportive mid-stroke and an actively controlled bottom-out feel that keeps you in full control even at the limit of the fork’s 180mm travel. Full LSR (low-speed rebound), HSC/LSC (high and low-speed compression) and Adjustable Bottom Out External give you comprehensive control over every aspect of fork behaviour. The 44mm offset, 20x110mm thru-axle (Red anodised) and 800mm handlebar combination create a front end that inspires total confidence on the gnarliest terrain.

ROCKSHOX VIVID COIL REAR SHOCK

The T1’s most distinctive specification is its RockShox Vivid Coil rear shock — a coil spring unit that represents the ultimate expression of Forbidden’s high-pivot suspension philosophy. Where every other build in the Dreadnought E range runs air shocks, the T1 goes coil, and the difference is tangible: coil shocks deliver a more consistent, linear feel throughout the travel, with less friction and a more progressive, supported feel that is particularly noticeable on repeated hits, rock gardens, and sustained high-speed descents. The Vivid Coil is tuned specifically for the Dreadnought E’s Trifecta V3 linkage with size-specific spring rates — S1: 300lb, S2: 350lb, S3: 400lb, S4: 450lb — and features Rebound Adjust, LSR, HSC/LSC, HBO Adjust, and a 2-Position Threshold Lever. Tune: C26, R55, 230x65mm.

SRAM MAVEN ULTIMATE BRAKES

The T1 spec’s SRAM Maven Ultimate brakes front and rear represent the current pinnacle of SRAM’s trail brake lineup. The Maven Ultimate features SwingLink progressive leverage technology, Stealth Body, Reach and Contact Adjustment, and organic pads — identical to the Maven Silver on the T2 in architecture, but with the addition of SRAM’s Superior Heat Management (SHM) rotors: 200mm SRAM HS2, which use a thermoplastic compound to disperse heat more effectively under sustained heavy braking. This makes a genuine difference on long descents and repeated bike park laps, where brake fade is a real concern on a full-power e-MTB. The HS2 rotor spec is a step above the Centerline rotors found on lower builds.

SRAM X0 T-TYPE AXS DRIVETRAIN

The T1 runs the SRAM X0 T-Type AXS groupset — SRAM’s top-tier wireless electronic mountain bike drivetrain. The X0 T-Type rear derailleur features a Hangerless Interface, Overload Clutch, and Replaceable Skid Plates, shifting the 12-speed SRAM XS-1295 cassette (XD fit) with crispness and reliability that mechanical systems simply cannot match. The cranks are SRAM X0 E at 150mm with a SRAM 34T chainring at 55mm chainline — lightweight alloy cranks purpose-built for e-bike-specific loads. Shifting is controlled via the SRAM POD Rocker AXS wireless controller. Combined with the SRAM GX T-Type chain and FBC idler pulley with V2 18T steel idler and BOSL Enduro Bearings, the drivetrain is as capable as it is refined.

CRANKBROTHERS SYNTHESIS CARBON ENDURO WHEELS

The T1 rolls on Crankbrothers Synthesis Carbon Enduro wheels — a carbon wheel upgrade that makes the T1 the only build in the Dreadnought E range to run carbon rims. The Synthesis Carbon Enduro features a 31.5mm internal width front and rear for optimal tyre support with modern high-volume rubber, and is built tubeless ready with Black with Grey Graphics. Spokes are Sapim CX-Ray — a bladed, double-butted aero spoke widely considered the benchmark for lightweight strength — with varied gauges front and rear (Front: CX Ray 2.0/0.9/2.2/2.0mm; Rear: Race 2.0/1.25/2.25/2.0mm). Built on Crank Brothers Ratchet hubs with Maxle Stealth skewers. The carbon wheel upgrade reduces rotational weight and adds a level of stiffness and compliance that the alloy builds cannot match.

TRIFECTA HIGH-PIVOT SUSPENSION PLATFORM

The heart of the Dreadnought E T1 is Forbidden’s Trifecta V3 high-pivot four-bar suspension with 170mm of rear travel. The platform is designed to work specifically with coil and large-volume air shocks — and on the T1, pairing it with the Vivid Coil unlocks the full potential of the kinematics. The rearward axle path, combined with the vertical shock position inside the frame, delivers composure through technical terrain that is exceptional even by the standards of dedicated downhill bikes. The geometry is unapologetically DH-focused — slack head angle, tall front end, 150mm cranks — and the OneRide proportional sizing ensures every size from S1 to S4 handles identically.

ONEUP V3 DROPPER POST & COCKPIT

The T1 spec’s the OneUp V3 dropper post — a 31.6mm post with size-specific travel (S1: 150mm / S2: 180mm / S3: 210mm / S4: 240mm) and the OneUp V3 remote with MatchMaker X integrated dropper actuation and Oversized Bearing for smooth, precise lever feel. The OneUp Alloy handlebar (800mm, S1–S2: 20mm / S3–S4: 35mm rise, Matte Carbon finish, 8° Backsweep 5° Upward, 35mm Bar Bore) and OneUp Forged stem (42mm, Forged 6061 Aluminium) complete a cockpit that is purpose-built for aggressive, high-speed riding.

FRAME CONSTRUCTION & PROTECTION

The Dreadnought E frame is high-modulus carbon fibre built around Forbidden’s Trifecta V2 high-pivot four-bar architecture with OneRide proportional geometry across four sizes (S1–S4). Full in-house custom frame protection — chainstay, seatstay, downtube, and motor guard — plus factory-installed RideWrap in high-wear zones keeps the bike quiet and protected in the most demanding conditions. The Fidlock TWIST Bike Base bottle mount accommodates a 26 oz water bottle on every frame size. The Dreadnought E carries Forbidden’s lifetime carbon frame warranty.

FAQs – Forbidden Dreadnought E T1

What size Forbidden Dreadnought E T1 do I need?

The Dreadnought E T1 is available in four sizes: S1, S2, S3, and S4. As a general guide, S1 suits riders approximately 158–170cm; S2 suits 168–180cm; S3 suits 177–189cm; and S4 suits 186–198cm. Forbidden’s OneRide proportional geometry independently scales each size for consistent handling feel across the range. The T1’s coil shock ships with a size-specific spring rate — 300lb for S1, 350lb for S2, 400lb for S3, and 450lb for S4 — so you’ll be set up correctly from the start. If you’re between sizes, reach out to us at outset.bike and we’ll help you find the right fit.

What type of riding is the Forbidden Dreadnought E T1 designed for?

The Dreadnought E T1 is a top-spec, full-power enduro e-MTB built for the most demanding terrain and the most demanding riders. With 170mm of rear travel via a coil shock, a RockShox ZEB Ultimate 180mm fork, DH-focused geometry, carbon wheels, and the Avinox M2S motor delivering 1,300 W of peak power, the T1 is at home on the steepest technical descents, bike park laps, enduro race courses, and any terrain where bike capability is the limiting factor — not the rider.

Why does the T1 use a coil shock when all other builds use air?

The RockShox Vivid Coil is the ideal partner for the Dreadnought E’s Trifecta V3 high-pivot suspension platform. Coil shocks offer a more linear, consistent force curve throughout the travel, lower friction, and a more supple initial feel compared to air shocks. On repeated hits, rock gardens, and sustained high-speed descents, a coil-equipped bike maintains its composure and sensitivity in a way that air shocks cannot fully replicate. Forbidden’s high-pivot kinematics were specifically designed to work with coil and large-volume air shocks, and the T1 takes full advantage of this by speccing the Vivid Coil with size-specific spring rates for each frame size.

What is the range of the Forbidden Dreadnought E T1?

The T1 runs the same 800 Wh Avinox battery (35.9 V, 22.3 Ah, IP56 rated) as the rest of the Dreadnought E range. Range depends on terrain, elevation, rider weight, and assist mode. In ECO mode on moderate trails, expect approximately 4–5 hours of riding. What sets the T1 apart is its Avinox 508W fast charger — the fastest charger in the range — which dramatically reduces charge time compared to the 168W charger on other builds.

What warranty does the Forbidden Dreadnought E T1 come with?

The Dreadnought E full-carbon frame is covered by Forbidden’s lifetime warranty for the original owner. Components carry their respective manufacturer warranties — typically 2 years for SRAM drivetrain, brakes, and RockShox suspension. The Avinox M2S motor and battery are covered under Avinox’s warranty terms. RockShox suspension should be serviced per SRAM’s recommended intervals for optimal performance. Contact us at outset.bike for specific warranty questions.

Is the Forbidden Dreadnought E T1 waterproof?

Yes. The Avinox M2S motor and battery carry an IP56 water resistance rating, making the system fully capable of handling wet trails, heavy rain, and muddy conditions. As with any top-spec suspension and electronic drivetrain system, we recommend avoiding pressure washing at the RockShox Vivid Coil spring and damper interface, SRAM AXS electronics, motor, battery port, and Crank Brothers Carbon Enduro rim interfaces to preserve long-term performance.

Can the Forbidden Dreadnought E T1 be set up tubeless?

Yes. The Crankbrothers Synthesis Carbon Enduro rims are tubeless ready (31.5mm internal width front and rear), and the Maxxis DH Casing tyres are fully compatible with a tubeless setup. Tubeless valves need to be added — Stan’s Sealant is included. The wider 31.5mm internal width of the carbon rims compared to the alloy builds provides optimal support for the Maxxis High Roller 3 and DHRII, allowing you to run lower pressures for more grip with less deformation and casing roll-over.

How does the SRAM X0 T-Type compare to the GX T-Type on the T2?

Both the SRAM X0 T-Type and GX T-Type are wireless AXS electronic derailleurs, but the X0 is the higher-spec unit. The X0 T-Type uses higher-grade materials in its construction, resulting in a lighter overall weight and marginally sharper shift feel. The X0 cassette is the SRAM XS-1295 (10–95T range vs 10–52T on the GX), offering a dramatically wider gear range that is particularly valuable with e-bike-specific gearing on steep terrain. The SRAM X0 E crankset is also a step up from the Praxis Alloy E-Cranks on lower builds. Together, the X0 drivetrain is the most refined and capable option in SRAM’s mountain bike lineup.

How should I store and care for the Forbidden Dreadnought E T1?

Store the bike clean and dry in a stable environment. Keep the battery between 30–60% for extended storage. For cleaning, use a soft brush and low-pressure water — avoid pressure washing at the Vivid Coil spring and damper, ZEB Ultimate fork seals, SRAM AXS electronics, motor, battery port, and carbon rim interfaces. Service the RockShox Vivid Coil and ZEB Ultimate per SRAM’s recommended intervals (lowers service every 50 hours, full damper service annually for heavy use). Lubricate the chain after wet rides and inspect idler pulley, cassette, and chainring regularly. The 508W fast charger is the default charger on the T1 — store it in a dry location and avoid leaving the battery at full charge for extended periods.

Is the Dreadnought E T1 worth the step up from the T2?

Yes — the T1 represents the complete vision of the Dreadnought E platform without compromise. The coil shock is the headline: it fundamentally changes the ride feel on the most demanding terrain in a way that can’t be replicated by any air shock at any price point. Add the ZEB Ultimate’s Buttercup bottom-out technology, SRAM X0 T-Type AXS with the 10–95T XS-1295 cassette, Maven Ultimate brakes with HS2 heat-management rotors, Crankbrothers Synthesis Carbon Enduro wheels, Sapim CX-Ray spokes, OneUp V3 dropper, and the 508W fast charger — and the T1 isn’t just a better-specced version of the T2, it’s a genuinely different bike to ride. For riders who will push the T1 to its limits, the step up is absolutely worth it.
