2026 Commencal Ramones 16

Commencal Ramones 16 – 2026

The Commencal Ramones 16 Back Pedal is an alloy kids pedal bike with 16″ wheels, built for riders 105–120cm tall (3′5″–3′11″) — around four years old. It is offered at outset.bike in three 2026 colours — Pure White, Black and Green (a turquoise shade on the spec sheet) — in a single size, with pedals included.

At outset.bike, we stock bikes we genuinely believe in. The Ramones 16 is designed and built to be a child’s first mountain bike — real parts, a real mountain bike look, sized for a four-year-old.

FRAME & FIT

The RMNS 16 frame and 16″ fork are both alloy 6061, and the complete bike weighs 7.24kg. The cockpit is genuinely kid-sized: a 500mm Ride Alpha kids handlebar tapered for 19mm kids-specific grips, a soft-padded Commencal kids saddle and 102mm cranks that match a small rider’s leg length. Reach is 272mm on a 699mm wheelbase with a 70° head angle — proportions that let the child steer the bike rather than wrestle it.

THE PARTS THAT MATTER

Braking is the Back Pedal model’s defining feature: a Tektro Aries mechanical disc brake with a kids-specific Tektro lever and Jagwire cable on a 140mm 6-bolt rotor, paired with a Commencal coaster brake rear hub — the back-pedal brake that gives a young rider a second, instinctive way to stop. The drivetrain is a simple singlespeed: a 28t chainring with an external chainguard, a 16t freewheel and a C-410 chain, so there is nothing to shift and little to maintain. Vee Tire Co. CrownGem 16″ x 2.25″ tyres in MPC compound carry the custom “Send It” patch.
