Description and specifications
Description
Forbidden Druid E – 2026
The Forbidden Druid E is a full-power, high-pivot carbon e-MTB with 150mm of rear travel and a 160mm fork, built on Forbidden’s Trifecta V3 suspension platform. It rolls on mixed wheels — 29″ front, 27.5″ rear — and is offered at outset.bike in four builds, T1 – Vitalogy, T2 – Purple Haze, T3 – EVOO and T4 – Sandstorm, each in sizes S1 to S4 with an 800 Wh Avinox battery. T1 and T2 run the Avinox M2S drive unit; T3 and T4 run the Avinox M2.
At outset.bike, we stock bikes we genuinely believe in. The Druid E is the electrified evolution of Forbidden’s legendary high-pivot trail platform — and it’s been worth the wait. It climbs effortlessly and descends with the same class-defying confidence the Druid is known for. This is witchcraft, electrified.
TRIFECTA V3 HIGH-PIVOT SUSPENSION
The Druid E uses Forbidden’s Trifecta V3 high-pivot four-bar layout with an idler pulley and the Forbidden Race Guide, redesigned specifically for the demands of an e-MTB. The high main pivot gives a rearward axle path, so the rear wheel moves up and back over square-edged hits rather than into them. A vertically positioned shock maximises dropper post clearance, a carbon rocker link reduces unsprung mass and isolates the shock from lateral forces, and the suspension tune has been refined to deliver a supple, consistent feel under power. The result is a bike that holds its speed through rough ground and stays calm under braking, while the 210 x 55mm shock keeps the travel efficient and supportive on climbs. Why it matters: 150mm of rear travel that works with you on the way up and inspires confidence on the way down.
AVINOX DRIVE SYSTEM
Every Druid E runs an Avinox drive unit with an integrated 800 Wh battery for extended range on long days in the hills. The T1 and T2 use the Avinox M2S — a 2.6 kg unit producing 130 Nm of torque (150 Nm in Boost) and 1300 W of peak power for maximum performance. The T3 and T4 use the Avinox M2, a 2.65 kg unit producing 110 Nm (125 Nm in Boost) and 1100 W. Power delivery is intuitive and tuneable via the 2-inch OLED full-colour display and the Avinox app, with wireless handlebar controls keeping everything within easy reach on the trail. The T1 ships with the Avinox 508 W fast charger (approximately 1 hour 30 minutes from 0 to 75%); the T2, T3 and T4 come with the 168 W charger (approximately 4 hours 45 minutes from 0 to 100%).
CHOOSING YOUR BUILD: T1 TO T4
T1 – Vitalogy is the top build. It pairs a Fox Podium Factory fork with a Fox Float X Factory shock, SRAM X0 T-Type AXS wireless shifting, SRAM Maven Ultimate brakes on HS2 heat-management rotors, Crankbrothers Synthesis Carbon Enduro wheels, a OneUp V3 dropper and the 508 W fast charger.
T2 – Purple Haze keeps the M2S motor and Fox Float X Factory shock, with a Fox 36 Factory fork, SRAM GX AXS wireless shifting, SRAM Maven Silver brakes and Crankbrothers Alloy 2.0 wheels.
T3 – EVOO moves to the Avinox M2 motor with a RockShox Lyrik Select+ fork and Super Deluxe Select+ shock, SRAM Eagle 90 mechanical shifting, SRAM Maven brakes and Crankbrothers Alloy 1.0 wheels.
T4 – Sandstorm is the most accessible way into a Druid E: the same frame, M2 motor and 800 Wh battery, with a RockShox Lyrik fork, Super Deluxe shock, SRAM Eagle 70 shifting and SRAM DB4 brakes.
All four builds share the same carbon frame, geometry, 150mm crank length, Maxxis High Roller 3 front and DHRII rear tyres, and TranzX or OneUp dropper with size-specific travel. The full specification for each build is listed below.
SIZING & ONERIDE GEOMETRY
The Druid E is the world’s first truly proportionally sized e-MTB. It comes in four sizes with Forbidden’s OneRide geometry, so every rider gets the same handling characteristics regardless of stature, and mixed wheels keep it agile and manoeuvrable despite the added weight of the motor and battery. The rear centre grows with each frame size (427mm on S1 to 471mm on S4), so every size keeps the same weight balance and handling. As a guide, S1 suits riders 158–168cm (5′2″–5′6″), S2 168–178cm (5′6″–5′10″), S3 178–188cm (5′10″–6′2″) and S4 188–198cm (6′2″–6′6″). Reach runs 430, 447, 467 and 487mm across S1–S4, with a 64° head angle and 76.75° seat angle on every size. If you’re between sizes, get in touch and we’ll help you choose.
FRAME, STANDARDS & WHAT’S INCLUDED
The frame is high-modulus carbon fibre with Enduro Max bearings, a ZS44/ZS56 headset, 148mm rear spacing, 200mm post-mount rear brake, 55mm chainline and a 31.6mm seatpost. It takes up to a 27.5 x 2.6 rear tyre and a chainring up to 36T (S1–S2) or 38T (S3–S4). A full suite of custom in-house frame protection covers the chainstay, seatstay, downtube and motor, with RideWrap film pre-installed in high-wear areas. An e-bike-specific 18-tooth steel idler with Enduro bearings ensures drivetrain longevity and compatibility with the latest T-Type and AXS drivetrains. Every size takes a full 26 oz water bottle, and the Druid E carries Forbidden’s lifetime carbon frame warranty. Pedals are not included. Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between the Druid E 1, 2, 3 and 4?
All four share the same carbon frame, 150mm of rear travel, a 160mm fork and the 800Wh battery. What changes is the motor and the kit. This is the flagship: Avinox’s M2S motor at 130Nm, 150Nm in boost, with the highest-spec build of the four. E2 runs the same M2S with a more modest kit; E3 and E4 use the M2 at 110Nm, 125Nm in boost. The two motors ride identically up to 1,100W — the M2S’s headroom shows up in steep, ledgy crux moves and shuttle-replacement laps, not in general trail riding. If that’s your riding, this is your bike.
How fast will it go before the motor cuts out?
These come from the factory set to 45km/h. Worth knowing, because most reviews you’ll read are European and describe a bike limited to 25km/h, and North American ones quote 32km/h. If you’ve read that a Druid E runs out of assistance at 25km/h, that isn’t the bike you’ll be riding here.
Do the idler and chain wear out faster?
Yes, an idler adds some wear — that’s the trade for the way a high pivot pedals and tracks. But in our workshop the far bigger factor is shifting under load and a cheap drivetrain. A stretched chain and sloppy shifts will chew through parts much faster than the idler ever will. Shift cleanly, keep the chain clean, replace it before it stretches, and drivetrain life on these is unremarkable.
What's the real-world range on the 800Wh battery?
Forbidden quote around 157km, which is a best-case figure on easy ground and not much use for planning a ride. What actually governs your range is vertical metres, not distance. Independent tests of 800Wh Avinox bikes ridden entirely in Turbo land between roughly 1,400 and 1,800 metres of climbing, depending on rider weight, terrain and conditions.
Our rule of thumb: plan on 1,000–1,200m of climbing and you’ll finish with battery in hand. If the day is bigger than that, ride Trail rather than Turbo and you’ll comfortably make it home.
