Commencal Clash 20 – 2027

The Commencal Clash 20 is a full-suspension kids mountain bike with 20″ wheels, 125mm of rear travel and a 120mm fork, built for riders 115–130cm tall (3′9″–4′3″) — around five to six years old. It is offered at outset.bike in one 2027 build, Pure White, in a single size, with kids pedals included.

REAL SUSPENSION, KID-SIZED

The rear end runs Commencal’s virtual pivot point kinematics with a RockShox Deluxe Select shock (170 x 35mm, rebound and threshold adjustment, one token fitted), delivering 125mm of travel that keeps grip and comfort intact on rough ground. Up front, the 120mm Manitou Junit Pro 20 fork uses a kids-specific air cartridge with rebound and compression adjustment — tuned so a light rider actually moves through the travel rather than skipping over it. Commencal recommends 26–30% shock sag (14–17mm). Why it matters: suspension valved for a 25kg rider is the difference between a bike that works and one that just looks the part.

FRAME & FIT

The triple butted alloy frame (T4/T6 heat treated) carries geometry straight off Commencal’s gravity bikes: 320mm reach, a 927mm wheelbase, a 65° head angle, 74° seat angle and 345mm chainstays. The complete bike weighs 11.6kg without pedals. The cockpit is scaled to match — a 600mm Ride Alpha R15 bar on a 40mm Ride Alpha stem, ODI Elite Motion grips and a kids-specific Commencal Explora JR saddle.

THE PARTS THAT MATTER

Tektro HD-J3120 hydraulic disc brakes with two-piston calipers and 180mm rotors give light-action, kid-strength stopping power. The Microshift Acolyte 8-speed drivetrain pairs an 11–38t cassette with a 30t chainring on 127mm Prowheel cranks — simple, tough and cheap to service. Wheels are WTB ST 20″ rims (28h, 30mm internal) on Formula sealed-bearing hubs, with Sapim D-Light double butted spokes and Vee Tire Attack HPL 20″ x 2.40″ tyres.

FRAME, STANDARDS & WHAT’S INCLUDED

The headset is an Acros ZS44/ZS56 with sealed bearings, the bottom bracket a BB92 pressfit, and the fork runs a Boost 15 x 110mm axle.
