Description
Commencal Clash XS – 2027
The Commencal Clash XS is a full-suspension enduro and freeride mountain bike for younger riders, with 160mm of travel front and rear and mullet wheels — 27.5″ at the front and 26″ at the rear. It comes in one size, XS, for riders 148–160cm (4′10″–5′3″), typically aged 11 to 12. For 2027 it is offered at outset.bike in one build, in Pure White.
At outset.bike, we stock bikes we genuinely believe in. The Clash XS is a proper gravity bike sized for a younger rider: its geometry, suspension and parts are chosen together, so they can take on steep trails and bike park lines with confidence.
A GRAVITY BIKE SIZED FOR YOUNGER RIDERS
The Clash XS pairs a 27.5″ front wheel, which rolls over roots and rocks, with a 26″ rear wheel that keeps the back of the bike compact for a smaller rider. Rear travel is 160mm on a 210 x 55mm shock, through Commencal’s virtual pivot point suspension, adapted for the smaller frame. The head angle is 64°, with a 77.5° seat tube angle and 434mm chainstays. The frame is triple-butted aluminium, heat-treated to T4/T6, and weighs 3.2kg. Commencal recommends 26–30% shock sag (14–17mm). Why it matters: suspension and geometry matched to a smaller, lighter rider give them the grip and control to ride technical terrain with confidence.
THE BUILD
The single 2027 build pairs a Marzocchi Bomber Z1 fork, with 160mm of travel and the RAIL 2.0 damper, with a RockShox Deluxe Select shock — support and absorption for demanding terrain. Brakes are TRP EVO Comp 4-piston hydraulics on 203mm rotors front and rear, for power and consistency on long descents. Shifting is SRAM S100 Eagle Transmission 12-speed with an 11–50T cassette and a 32T chainring on 160mm SRAM S200 cranks — shorter cranks suited to shorter legs. DT Swiss E593 rims on Formula hubs carry a Maxxis Assegai 27.5×2.50 front tyre and a Minion DHR II 26×2.40 rear, both EXO casing and tubeless ready. A KS 900i dropper with 100mm of travel, a 740mm Ride Alpha bar on a 40mm stem, ODI Elite Motion grips and a WTB Solano SL saddle complete it. It weighs 15.3kg without pedals, and pedals are included.
SIZING & GEOMETRY
The Clash XS comes in one size, XS, for riders 148–160cm (4′10″–5′3″). Reach is 395mm, stack 593mm and wheelbase 1,159mm, with a 64° head angle, 77.5° seat tube angle, 434mm chainstays, a 110mm head tube and a 360mm seat tube. If your rider is close to either end of that range, get in touch and we’ll help you choose.
FRAME, STANDARDS & WHAT’S INCLUDED
The frame runs a ZS44/ZS56 headset, a Press Fit BB92 bottom bracket, ISCG 05 chain guide tabs, a 31.6mm seatpost with a 34.9mm clamp and 205mm maximum insertion, a 148 x 12mm rear hub on a UDH derailleur hanger and a postmount 180mm rear brake mount, and it clears a rear tyre up to 64mm wide. It is piggy-back shock compatible, and Commencal recommends a 32T chainring, with 34T the maximum. Chainstay, seatstay and down tube protectors are fitted, and pedals are included. The Clash XS is covered by Commencal’s warranty, with free Commencal Care support — contact us for current warranty terms. For anything else about the Clash XS, get in touch at outset.bike.
