Commencal Meta HT XS – 2027

The Commencal Meta HT XS is an alloy all-mountain hardtail with a mullet wheel setup — 27.5″ front, 26″ rear — designed for teenagers and smaller riders 148–160cm tall (4′10″–5′3″), around eleven to twelve years old. It is offered at outset.bike in one 2027 build, Pure White, in size XS, with pedals included.

At outset.bike, we stock bikes we genuinely believe in. The Meta HT XS carries the characteristics of Commencal’s adult bikes — a proper hardtail for a rider who has outgrown kids bikes but not yet grown into an adult frame.

FRAME & FIT

The Meta HT XS frame is alloy 6061 with triple butted tubes and T4/T6 heat treatment, and the complete bike weighs 13.3kg without pedals. The geometry is genuinely modern: 383mm reach, an 1119mm wheelbase, a 64° head angle, 73° seat angle, 425mm chainstays and a short 360mm seat tube. The mullet setup pairs a 27.5″ front wheel for rollover with a 26″ rear for standover and agility — the same logic Commencal applies to its adult gravity bikes.

THE PARTS THAT MATTER

The Marzocchi Bomber Z2 fork runs a RAIL 2.0 damper with Sweep-Adj compression and rebound adjustment, two volume tokens, a Boost 15 x 110mm axle and 44mm offset. TRP 4-piston hydraulic disc brakes on 203mm TRP RS01E rotors give serious stopping power for steep terrain. The SRAM 12-speed drivetrain pairs an S100 shifter, derailleur and chain with an 11–50t PG-1210 cassette and an S200 crankset — 160mm arms and a 32t chainring, sized for shorter legs. Wheels are DT Swiss E593 rims (27.5″ front, 26″ rear, 30mm internal) on Formula sealed-bearing hubs, with a Maxxis DHR II pairing: 27.5″ x 2.40″ 3C MaxxTerra Exo front and 26″ x 2.40″ dual-compound Exo rear, both tubeless ready.

FRAME, STANDARDS & WHAT’S INCLUDED

The headset is an Acros ZS44/ZS56 with sealed bearings, the bottom bracket a SRAM DUB BB92 pressfit, the seatpost a 31.6mm KS 900i (100mm), and the rear axle a 12 x 148mm Boost. Every Meta HT XS ships with Ride Alpha CNC small pedals, a chainstay protector and a seatstay protector, and is covered by Commencal’s standard warranty with free Commencal Care support.
