Commencal Meta V5 – 2027

The Commencal Meta V5 is an alloy enduro and all-mountain bike with 150mm of rear travel, a 160mm fork and 29″ wheels front and rear. It is offered at outset.bike in two 2027 builds — Signature in Pure Black and Essential in Pure White — in sizes S, M, L and XL.

A 29ER ENDURO PLATFORM

Commencal builds the Meta V5 around a triple butted 6066 alloy frame with T4 and T6 heat treatment, 150mm of rear travel on a 210 x 55mm shock and 29″ wheels at both ends. The frame itself weighs 4.06kg, the head angle sits at 64.1–64.5° depending on setting, and a two-position shock anchor lets you switch between low and high geometry. Commencal recommends 27–30% shock sag, and the frame accepts piggy-back shocks. Why it matters: full 29″ wheels and a long, stable chassis keep the Meta V5 composed at enduro race pace without giving up the line choice a modern all-mountain bike needs.

CHOOSING YOUR BUILD

Signature – Pure Black is the top build: a Fox 36 Factory fork with the Grip X2 damper and a Fox Float X Factory shock, both with high- and low-speed compression and rebound adjustment. Shifting is SRAM Eagle 90 12-speed with a SRAM X0 T-Type crankset, and braking is Shimano XT 4-piston on 203mm rotors. DT Swiss EX1700 wheels on 350 hubs with the DEG DF rear hub, a OneUp V3 dropper and a Maxxis High Roller II MaxxGrip front / DHR II MaxxTerra rear tyre pairing finish it. Commencal quotes a minimum weight of 15.7kg (size S, without pedals).

Essential – Pure White runs a Fox 36 Performance fork and Float X Performance shock, SRAM Eagle 90 12-speed shifting with a SRAM Eagle 70 crankset, and TRP EVO Expert 4-piston brakes on 203mm rotors. DT Swiss E593 rims on 370 hubs, a KS Ragei dropper and a Maxxis Assegai MaxxGrip front / DHR II MaxxTerra rear tyre pairing complete the build. It weighs 17kg (average, size S, without pedals).

SIZING & GEOMETRY

The Meta V5 comes in S, M, L and XL. In the high setting, reach runs 440, 460, 480 and 500mm, with a 64.5° head angle, 78.2° seat tube angle and chainstays of 435mm (S and M) or 440mm (L and XL); the low setting slackens the head angle to 64.1° and the seat angle to 77.7°. As a guide, S suits riders 158–170cm (5′2″–5′7″), M suits 168–180cm (5′6″–5′11″), L suits 178–190cm (5′10″–6′3″) and XL suits 188–200cm (6′2″–6′7″). FRAME, STANDARDS & WHAT’S INCLUDED

The frame runs a UDH derailleur hanger, a Press Fit BB92 bottom bracket, ISCG 05 tabs with a lower chain guide mount and a custom upper guide, a 34.9mm seatpost and a ZS56/ZS56 headset, and it clears a rear tyre up to 65mm wide. The rear brake mount is postmount 200mm with a 223mm maximum rotor. Both builds ship with a down tube protector, chainstay and seatstay protectors, a shuttle pad, a fork mud guard and a Fidlock bottle base. The Meta V5 carries Commencal’s lifetime guarantee against manufacturing defects for the original purchaser, with free Commencal Care support. Pedals are not included.
