2027 Commencal Ramones 12

Commencal Ramones 12 – 2027

The Commencal Ramones 12 is an alloy balance bike with 12″ wheels, built for riders 90–105cm tall (2′11″–3′5″) — around two years old. It is offered at outset.bike in three 2027 colours — Pure White, Black and Green (a turquoise shade on the spec sheet) — in a single size.

At outset.bike, we stock bikes we genuinely believe in. The Ramones 12 is a first taste of riding done properly — a genuine Commencal, scaled down so the move to a pedal bike comes naturally.

FRAME & FIT

The frame and 12″ fork are both alloy 6061, and the whole bike weighs 4.27kg — light enough for a two-year-old to manage on their own. The frame shape is designed to avoid leg friction and help the child build momentum, with an extra-wide rubber platform in the centre of the frame so they can rest their feet once the bike is rolling. Seat height adjusts from 333 to 400mm, and the saddle has an integrated handle so an adult can steady the bike or carry it. Why it matters: a balance bike this light teaches balance and steering first, which makes the later move to a pedal bike far easier.

THE PARTS THAT MATTER

Commencal fits the Ramones 12 with parts sized for small riders: a 430mm Ride Alpha kids handlebar tapered for 19mm kids-specific grips, sealed-bearing hubs at both ends and Vee Tire Co. CrownGem 12″ x 2.25″ tyres whose wide footprint helps the child develop balance. The frame and rear hub are disc brake ready — an IS 140mm rear mount takes a rotor up to 160mm — so a rear brake can be added as skills grow. No brake is fitted as standard.

WHAT’S INCLUDED & WARRANTY

Every Ramones 12 ships with a bell and a footrest protector. As a balance bike it has no pedals or drivetrain. It is covered by Commencal’s standard warranty, with free Commencal Care support included. If you’re not sure whether your child suits the 12″ or 14″ wheel size, get in touch at outset.bike.
