The durable, high-strength polymer material inside the Avinox M1 Drive Unit effectively suppresses noise during high-speed gearbox operation. With multiple precision sensors built-in, combined with advanced DJI algorithms, it provides a strong, smooth assistance for a wide range of scenarios and conditions.
Five Modes, Targeted Assistance
In addition to traditional assistance modes of Eco, Trail and Turbo, the DJI Avinox Drive System also features a specialized Auto mode, which adapts assistance in real-time based on road conditions and riding position. Once enabled, Auto mode empowers users to tackle a wide variety of terrain types and gradients without having to switch modes. For the most challenging trails or steep inclines, activate Boost mode to instantly get 120 Nm of torque and 1000W high-power assistance.
Intelligent Walk Assist, Effortless Control
Amflow PL’s Walk Mode features intelligent walk assistance for easy incline traversing, Auto Hold to prevent rollback on slopes, and Hill Start Assist for additional torque to get you started on inclines. It also allows stationary gear shifting for a smooth and intuitive experience.
Intelligent Battery Health, Extended Service Life
Amflow PL features a battery health management system for real-time monitoring, self-discharge, active voltage reduction, and abnormality alerts. Batteries are durable and reliable. After 500 full charge-discharge cycles, the battery still maintains 80% of its initial capacity.
GaN 3x Fast Charging
The palm-sized fast charger is capable of charging the battery from 0% to 75% in just 1.5 hours.

Built-in Display, Smartphone Connectivity
The brain of the DJI Avinox Drive System is the Control Display. This 2-inch full-color OLED touchscreen is integrated directly into the frame. It displays real-time ride data and estimated range, and enables quick changes of the display content with a simple slide.
Anti-Theft Protection
Users can configure multiple anti-theft settings on the Avinox app, including password authentication and abnormal movement alerts. If the bike is moved, an alarm will sound, and the Avinox app will send a push notification, making it convenient for users to check the bike’s real-time location and status. Users can also activate a Phone Key to unlock the bike automatically according to proximity.
Comprehensive Data Recording, Easy Metric Sharing
With the Control Display or the Avinox app, riders can review a rich array of data like speeds, range, cadence, power, torque, gradient, altitude, calories burned, ride times, heart rate, and more. This data can also be easily synced with Strava.

Frequently asked questions
How does the PL compare to the newer PX?
The PL is the original Amflow and the PX is its successor. The PL runs the first-generation Avinox M1; the PX moves to the newer M2S. Both share the same recipe – full carbon frame, 160mm fork, 150mm rear.
Having ridden both, the difference is marginal but noticeable, and it’s more about power delivery than outright power – the newer motor meters it out more smoothly rather than simply giving you more. The PX is also the better-presented bike; there’s more attention to detail in the finish. The PL is still a lot of bike and costs less, but if you’re choosing fresh, the PX Carbon is the one we steer most people to.
What do I get if I step up to the PL Carbon PRO?
Three things. Suspension goes from Fox Performance to full Fox Factory – a 36 with the GRIP X2 damper and a Float X rear, with the Kashima coating. The drivetrain goes from SRAM GX mechanical to X0 AXS wireless. And the wheels and handlebar go from alloy to carbon.
Frame, motor, battery and geometry are identical, so it’s the same bike underneath with the same power and the same handling. You’re paying for damper adjustment, shifting, and rotating weight. Ridden hard and often you’ll feel all three; ridden occasionally, the standard build is a lot of bike for the money.
Is Amflow really made by DJI?
Yes, though the structure is worth understanding. DJI owns both Amflow, the bike brand, and Avinox, which makes the drive system. They’re separate companies under the same umbrella rather than one company doing everything – which is why the motor carries its own name and appears on bikes from other brands too.
That’s how a first-generation bike arrived with a motor outperforming the established bike-industry units: DJI brought motor, battery and control-system engineering across from a completely different industry. It’s also why the display and app feel more like consumer electronics than a bike computer.
How far will it really go on a charge?
About the same as any other bike carrying the same weight with a comparable Avinox motor. Range on a full-power e-bike is governed by total payload – bike, rider and kit – and by how much climbing you do, far more than by which badge is on the frame.
So treat any headline range figure as a best case on easy ground, and judge by vertical metres rather than distance. The PL’s 19.2kg does help here, in the sense that a lighter bike is less weight to haul up the hill in the first place – but the dominant factor is still you, your kit, and how much climbing is in the ride.
